The Role of the Chair
The Trustees of Ormiston Families are seeking an inspirational and values-driven Chair to guide the organisation through the next phase of its development. This is a significant and timely opportunity to lead a well-established and highly respected children and families charity at a point of growth, renewal and increasing demand for its services.
Ormiston Families delivers vital, trauma-informed support to children, young people and families across the East of England, working in some of the most challenging and complex areas of need. As Chair, you will work closely with the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees to ensure strong governance, strategic clarity and continued focus on delivering meaningful, evidence-based impact. You will play a central role in shaping the future direction of the organisation, supporting its ambition to expand reach, strengthen partnerships and deepen its impact within the communities it serves.
The role combines leadership of the Board with an outward-facing ambassadorial presence, requiring an individual who can balance strategic oversight with advocacy, influence and relationship-building across a wide range of stakeholders.
